STEFAAN VAN LEUVEN HAS NO IDEA HOW HE ENDED UP IN AOTEAROA. BELGIAN BORN AND BRED, THE BASSIST-TURNED-PRODUCER-TURNED-DJ HAS BEEN TOURING THE GLOBE FOR DECADES.

In 1996, he and his bandmates left school, and were transported from suburban Ghent, to inner city Los Angeles, where he stayed with a family friend and her family of cobra snakes. Soulwax stayed in LA for just over a year, and recorded their first album with the legendary Chris Goss. Fast forward to their third studio album, Any Minute Now, and Soulwax had three singles - the "E Talking" video was controversial, and was restricted viewing on most music video tv channels at the time.

As a part of Soulwax, Stefaan has worked on various projects with Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Tiga, and the Gorillaz. Soulwax has also produced remixes for The Gossip, Robbie Williams, and The Rolling Stones.

Working for Soulwax, and producing work for the Dewales brothers under the guise of 2ManyDJs, Stefaan has over twenty years of non-stop globe trotting under his belt. From the shores of Calvi on the Rocks, to the jungles of Columbia, to the sequins of Coachella, to the gumboots of Glastonbury - to our shores on the magical North Island of Aotearoa - Stefaan is now based in Tāmaki Makaurau and ready to make you sweat.
