LUCOLA is the brainchild of a globetrotting composer and multi-instrumentalist with roots in Wellington and musical branches that have stretched across the globe.

Having studied Composition in New Zealand's capital during the early 2000s, LUCOLA's journey has been comparable to a Rocky Road Chocolate bar. Over the years, he has played with various bands, touring extensively and eventually settling in Los Angeles for five years. While in L.A., he collaborated with acclaimed artists like Danni Harrison, Ariel Pink(HOLY SHIT), Kirin J. Callinan, and Molly Lewis, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and innovative musician.

LUCOLA's sound is a rich tapestry of electronic music, where influences from Jean Michel Jarre, Wally Badarou, Tangerine Dream, and Laurie Anderson are woven into unique compositions. His performances often blur the lines between genres, seamlessly integrating elements of balearic, krautrock, ambient, and avant-garde.

Currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, LUCOLA continues to push the boundaries of his craft. Last year, he composed the soundtrack for the New Zealand cult feature film The Paragon, showcasing his ability to create immersive and evocative musical landscapes. His live performances have captivated audiences at notable festivals such as Field of Dreams and The Other's Way Festival.

LUCOLA's upcoming EP, Waikanae, recorded at Unisex Studios in Los Angeles with producer Phillip Haut (Don Bolles, Ariel Pink), reflects his journey through diverse musical landscapes. Set to be released by Black Pearl Records in Germany this year, the EP encapsulates the vibrant energy and experimental spirit that define LUCOLA's music.

Whether on stage or in the studio, LUCOLA's music transports listeners to new realms of sound and imagination. With an expansive creative vision and a dynamic approach to composition, LUCOLA continues to leave an indelible mark on the New Zealand softcore electronic music scene.
